Volunteering in Nepal

If you have free time and would like to spend about 3 to 5 months in Nepal doing Voluntary work to help people and local organizations there is an opportunity for you. For this, you will need some training in language and culture. itc has a wide range of experience in finding the right place for you to do voluntary work. We will give you a 6-week package that includes the following aspects of preparation and adjustment:

  • Language Lessons: The language course aims at enabling the participant to acquire speaking skill and communicate independently during and after the course.

  • Cultural Sessions: Participants are offered some cultural tips to make them familiar with basic do’s and don’ts and provide them with some living skills so that they don’t offend anyone in the workplace or elsewhere.

  • Medical Orientation: A medical orientation is organized for participants by a doctor, who is experience in travel illness. This orientation covers precautions that participants have to take while in Nepal and a brief on common illnesses that may affect foreign nationals.

The Workplace:
There is a variety of workplaces ranging from a care center for the elderly to a children’s care center. You could also help a local organization in their administration; teach English in a school or work at a women’s care enter. Inform us of your preference in advance and we will do our best to match your interest with the workplace.
