In-Country Orientation Programme

This programme is designed for: Expatriates, volunteers and individuals, who plan to live and work in Nepal. It is for those people who have to work in a culturally diverse situation and have to speak Nepali. 

Course design:

1. Language course
   The participants do an intensive language course with well qualified and experienced Nepali language trainers. Preference is given to spoken and functional Nepali. Interactive and learner-centred teaching methods are used.


 

2. Cultural immersion program
   For a quick grasp of cultural values, do’s and dont’s and daily life-style a home stay program is offered. Participants live with a Nepali family for a couple of weeks.


 

3. Cultural sessions at school
   Along with Nepali language lessons, tips on Nepali culture and living skills are also offered. The sessions are better taken before you start your work and stay in Nepal.


 

4. Talk Sessions
   To familiarize participants with the overall situation in Nepal talks and discussions are organized in several different subjects.

This is a very effective course, which has been successfully implemented for many years in Nepal by our centre. Many INGOs are implementing this course for volunteers, expatriates and development workers who come to work here with their agency.
